AFSA 2025 Events

Our upcoming events are designed to support and grow AFSA’s nationwide network of member groups — providing resources, visibility, and momentum as members work to hold their alma maters accountable. All events are open to AFSA members, and those open to the public will be noted.

If you’re not yet connected to your alma mater’s AFSA chapter, email us at info@joinafsa.org and our team will point you in the right direction. If you have an event or speaker idea, please let us know.

Join us for a special Zoom event featuring Logan Dougherty, senior researcher at FIRE (Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression). Logan will walk us through Students Under FIRE — FIRE’s new report and searchable database documenting student free speech cases across the country. This groundbreaking resource offers a window into current trends, risks, and opportunities for defending student rights on campus. Open to all AFSA member groups. Don’t miss this chance to explore the data and learn how it can support your campus efforts.

Bringing a speaker to campus isn’t just an event — it’s one of the fastest and most effective ways to grow your chapter’s email list and build a lasting communications pipeline. These events demonstrate viewpoint diversity, bring together alumni and faculty allies, and show visible support for students who feel underrepresented in today’s campus climate. In this first session of the AFSA Summer Toolbox Series, Patrick Coyle of Young America’s Foundation will share practical strategies for hosting impactful, well-attended events.

The new administration has implemented so many new policies affecting our institutions that it may seem hard to know how best to effectively engage with our university administrators. We can’t solve all of this in an hour’s meeting, but we’ll make a start at this week’s Campus Strategy Workshop. With the support of some of us close to the legal or political situations, we’ll review items which are of greatest interest to our members. Consider what has the largest impact on your campus, and bring your questions and observations! We will convene at our usual time, 5:00 PM ET, this Wednesday March 19.
